Position: Supervisor, Safety/Compliance & Environment

Description:

Reporting to the Director, Distribution Services,this role requires a communicator searching for an opportunity to provide training and implement safety and compliance programs for operations throughout Alberta. You are motivated by the belief that worker training ensures safe work practice. Your ability to arrange training in the areas of First Aid, WHMIS, fire protection, fall protection, confined space entry, and drug and alcohol awareness promote occupational health and safety. In addition, you will assess and draft safety policies and manage compliance programs while working closely with a team of drivers and operations staff. You are able to independently analyze risk, investigate accidents, and rigorously audit safety. Your coaching skills provide a basis for targeting areas for improvement and responding to individual training needs. Your problem solving skills, sense of urgency, and eagerness to deliver training to business units in Edmonton and Calgary are the keys to successful performance in this role.

Requirements:
You have proven skills in independently implementing and achieving training objectives and coordinating Emergency Response procedures. Your knowledge of transportation compliance, experience with government regulatory bodies and your background in Workplace, Health and Safety make you a credible and well-informed partner in promoting a safe organizational culture. Experience with heavy equipment (forklifts, loaders, etc.) is an asset.
